Finding skilled trades people
Learn what to look for when choosing a good curtain maker, supplier or upholsterer. How to make sure your decorator or tradesperson knows what he or she is doing using clear communication. Where to buy and what to buy that suits your needs.
Don’t be taken in by a fantastically cheap deal when selecting a curtain maker or upholsterer. The manufacturing of furnishings is a highly skilled job and much of the work is hidden ‘under the bonnet’, just like having your car repaired. Properly made and properly cared for, soft furnishings last many years.
Where to buy
Learn who to buy from. Find a genuine supplier who can advise you. An online supplier may have very little interest in after sales service, but it is tempting to be lured into buying cheaply, but beware.
Get the best on going service from a supplier that is interested in you and can supply you and use their curtain workshop and upholsterers. However, NOT all online suppliers are the same, and there are many who offer a comprehensive curtain making and upholstery service and are excellent.
